Thank you for sharing this. I can relate. I had a similar experience with suicide of a family member when I was 12 years old. To understand who I am, to really know me, you'd have to know what happened that day and all of its fallout. I, too, hope my kids have more healthy soil to work with. Thanks again.

You write so beautifully, especially about the "ugly" things in life. It is such a gift. Thank you for sharing it with us. Thank you for sharing something so vulnerable with us.

I have a lineage of mental illness in my family. Much of which was hidden from generation to generation on the women's side. My life would have been much simpler had I known at a younger age that much of what I was dealing with could be dealt with through therapy, and awareness. Getting hit with PTSD at the age of 14 sent me into a tailspin. My history would have helped with my recovery had it been known and not buried. Your article is intense and speaks loudly of your pain. Good luck in continuing to pluck weeds from your beautiful garden of life. 💕

Thank you ❤️ It is a shame so many suffer, not knowing there were others before them.

You are, we are, not all that haunts us. The reasons why those that take their own lives is killed in the process. You are, we are, free. Everyone is struggling financially, not just yourself. Sadly, this is the norm. But your kids have their mother in their lives. And the only thing kids really want from their parents is love...!

You are an amazing writer and so poignantly and bravely bare your soul. The only way the stigma around mental health ends is if more people feel safe to share their truth the good, the bad and the ugly. Thank you for sharing!
