We can forget how hard transitions are, how long they can take, no matter how much we want them. Rebirths are as painful as natural births. You're squeezing through a teeny tiny space, wondering if you'll ever get where you're meant to be, asking why this isn't spectacularly joyful and easy, exhausted and gasping for breath. Then, it happens. You realize you've arrived. And it's everything you hoped for. That just never happens all at once, sadly. Not when it's truly meaningful.
